The event is a joint venture between The UK Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA) and The Organisation of Golf & RangeOperators (OGRO) and we think that this is one of the most relevant and enjoyable fixtures on the golf industry calendar.
We have made some changes to the event since last year - the exhibition is again on day one, with interesting seminars presentations also taking place on the first day. Day two is devoted to more detailed and specific work and we have a number of specialist workshops scheduled on the second morning. These will involve a smaller group and get into each subject in more depth. There will also be an opportunity to play golf or enjoy the other facilities of the resort with friends and colleagues if you wish.
We expect a great turn out for the dinner in the evening. Once again we will be raising money for the Golf Foundation. For PGA professionals the event carries 50 CPD points – 25 points for each day’s attendance. Please ensure that you let us have your PGA number to ensure that you are credited with the points.
Record Numbers for the Golf Business and Industry Convention 2013
The Golf Business Industry Convention (GolfBIC) was formed just two years ago, through collaboration with the UKGCOA and OGRO. The idea of the event was to give those involved in delivering golf as a sport the opportunity to get together, learn more, see more, and discuss everything they need to on an annual basis. GolfBIC is also the home for the UKGCOA AGM and the AGM of the Golf Consultants Association. The design of the event is simple: a tabletop exhibition, a range of interesting and stimulating seminars, a charity dinner, and some great workshops the following morning. These ingredients are stirred together with generous helpings of free time, which provide the perfect opportunity to network and chat with old friends and new. Judging by the fact that this year’s event was attended by approximately 270 delegates, it seems to be working, and GolfBIC looks like being a fixture in the golf industry for many years to come.
